Our Journey...

Amid the 2020 global pandemic, the importance of El Paso’s small business community came into sharp focus. In response, the City of El Paso’s Economic and International Development Department launched the Small Business Assistance division to help local entrepreneurs navigate economic uncertainty and access vital support. This early work, in close collaboration with ESOs, delivered financial relief, regulatory guidance, and built a strong, connected support network. The pandemic highlighted both the resilience of El Paso’s small businesses and the urgent need for a coordinated ecosystem to sustain them. Recognizing the long-term value of this approach, what began as a City-supported initiative has since evolved into BOSS, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to entrepreneurial support across the region. Today, BOSS continues to build on that foundation, leveraging public and private partnerships to create a more resilient and inclusive small business landscape.
