Purpose
The Fund for Community Climate, Sustainability and Resilience from the City of El Paso empowers local, grassroots programs that support neighborhood-level energy efficiency, sustainable living education, and environmental stewardship initiatives across the region.
Through the Paso del Norte Community Foundation, contributors gain a streamlined, tax-deductible, and impactful giving pathway, ensuring that funds directly support local, high-impact projects aligned with the El Paso Climate Action Plan and community priorities.
Your partnership provides essential resources for local climate action, fosters environmental stewardship, and elevates the capacity of neighborhoods to adapt to a changing climate.

How Funds Are Used
All contributions are directed to community projects for tangible, local projects. See some examples below:
- Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy: Providing free, low-cost home improvements (like insulation and air sealing) to low-income residents to reduce energy bills and carbon footprints.
- Community Stewardship Program: Funding for tree planting programs that mitigate heat island effects, enhance local ecosystems, and foster community leadership and involvement.
- Educational Outreach: Developing culturally relevant, bilingual materials and training sessions to equip residents with skills for sustainable living.
- Micro-Grants: Providing small grants directly to community-based organizations and to implement their own neighborhood climate solutions.
Every partnership ensures that climate action is driven by, and directly benefits, the most vulnerable communities in our region.
