Power, Purpose, Plan: Building Momentum Across Our Region
The 2026 Power, Purpose, Plan cohort is officially underway—and the energy is undeniable.
This year, 22 nonprofit organizations from across El Paso, Las Cruces, and Cd. Juárez have stepped into a six-month journey designed to strengthen fundraising strategy, sharpen messaging, and deepen donor relationships. Led by Dr. Andrea Tawney, the series launched with a powerful first session that centered on a simple but essential truth: strong fundraising begins with clarity—of mission, message, and the people you serve.
From the very beginning, participants brought a sense of purpose and openness to the experience, engaging in thoughtful conversations about their goals, challenges, and opportunities for growth. For many, the session served as both a reset and a recharge—an opportunity to refocus on why their work matters and how to communicate that impact more effectively.
“It’s not just about raising funds, it’s about how we show up for our mission and our community,” said April Frowner of the El Paso Aphasia Group, capturing the spirit of the day.
That sense of intention has already begun to shape the cohort’s approach to fundraising. Participants are not only refining their strategies, but also building the confidence to lead with authenticity and purpose. Just as importantly, they are forming meaningful connections with one another—creating a network of peers who are committed to sharing ideas, offering support, and growing together.
The momentum is clear. This cohort isn’t just learning—they’re building. Building stronger strategies, stronger relationships, and a stronger nonprofit sector across our region.
We’re excited to see how these fundraising leaders continue to grow, lead, and make an impact in the months ahead.
