Scholarship Funds supporting our future generation

The Paso del Norte Community Foundation is honored to work with individuals and organizations to establish scholarship funds that have an annual and lifetime impact for our community's youth. We are pleased to announce the following scholarship awards.

Kiwanis Club of Horizon City Ben Narbuth Endowed Scholarship recently awarded three $1,000 scholarships to the following students: Alejandra Pacheco, (Americas High School), Claudia Yvette Guillen (San Elizario High School), and Jocelyn Torres (San Elizario High School). The scholarship fund was established by the Kiwanis Club of Horizon City in honor of dedicated Kiwanis Club member and leader Ben Narbuth for his love of the community and the role he played in delivering programming to students that positively changed their trajectory in life. 

EPISD Education Foundation awarded $71,500 to more than 70 seniors from their scholarship funds, which includes the foundation’s traditional scholarships: STARS Foundation Scholarships, EPISD Council of PTA Scholarships, the Amalia Muro Scholarship, the Genevieve Gonzalez Scholarship, the Coach Lou Robustelli and the Del Norte Lion’s Club Scholarship. Deby Lewis Foundation awarded $1,000 to eight Eastwood High School seniors for their academic achievements, leadership and community service. Deby Lewis was a beloved member of Eastwood High School and the YISD community. Scholarship winners: Bella Salem, Deborah Martinez, Jonafor Bryant, Lauren Torres, Melody Geiger, Paloma Palmer, Sasha Bajek and Valerie Rojas.

Canutillo Alumni Foundation for Education (CAFÉ) awarded $1,000 scholarships to 25 graduates from Canutillo High School and Northwest Early College High School. The CAFÉ scholarship was established to provide talented, college-bound graduates of CISD with support for their academic future. FirstLight Community Foundation awarded $1,000 scholarships to eight 2020 high school graduate in the community. FirstLight Community Foundation was established by FirstLight Federal Credit Union and strives to be help our youth in their pursuit of higher education. Scholarship winners: Lauren Barnes (Mayfield High School), Isabella Morales (El Paso High School), Nicole Poissant (Coronado High School), Claudia Guillen (San Elizario High School), Jaclyn Terrazas (Montwood High School), Johnny Torres (El Paso High School), Phillip Padilla (Las Cruces High School), and Alejandra Lopez (Bowie High School).

Women’s Fund of El Paso awarded scholarships to 24 women to impact the educational and leadership advancement of women in El Paso, Hudspeth and Doña Ana counties. The Women’s Fund of El Paso helps women receive a better education, develop critical leadership skills and achieve personal economic growth. The recipients will be attending the following institutions: UTEP, EPCC, Western Technical College, Park University, TTHSC, and TTHSC Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing.
