The Paso del Norte Community Foundation established the Binational Air Quality Fund to facilitate philanthropic contributions from individuals, corporations, foundations, and nonprofit organizations to support the “Administrative fund for air quality monitoring in the Paso del Norte air basin" (AQF) established in May 2021 by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and North American Development Bank (NADB) in partnership with local, state and federal organizations on both sides of the border.
The AQF supports the work of the Joint Advisory Committee for the improvement of air quality in the Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua/El Paso, Texas/Dona Ana County, New Mexico air basin (JAC).
Funds raised through the Binational Air Quality Fund in the PdNCF will provide support to the AQF for:
- Operating costs, maintenance, and human resources to support air quality monitoring stations.
- Infrastructure, technology, and equipment to enhance existing monitoring stations and to add new monitoring
- Administrative costs and quality
Non-Cash
Tangible personal property. Examples may be real estate, oil, gas, or mineral interests.
