Generous Hearts, Caring Community

As the year comes to a close, we’re grateful for the generous hearts of our caring community. If you are making any year-end gifts, we invite you to consider a gift to support one or more of the Paso del Norte Community Foundation’s 100 charitable funds supporting a wide-range of nonprofit organizations and initiatives in El Paso and Ciudad Juárez or start a new fund to support the charitable cause(s) of your choice.

Tax reforms have created opportunities for giving with the standard deduction up to $12,000 for individuals and $24,000 for couples in a single year. Now is the perfect time to make a significant difference in our region, while enjoying a greater tax benefit when you partner with the Paso del Norte Community Foundation.

Donor-Advised Funds

These popular charitable-giving funds allow donors to make larger, tax-deductible contributions. To take advantage of the larger charitable deductions this year, consider “bundling” multiple years of charitable giving into a single tax year and, if given to a Donor-Advised Fund, recommend grants on the charities of your choice over multiple years.

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

An Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is another way to give. If you are 70 ½ years of age or older, you can make a QCD of up to $100,000 to qualified nonprofit organizations including the Paso del Norte Community Foundation for the charitable cause(s) of your choice. A QCD is exempt from taxable income and can satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution from your IRA in a given year.

Every gift makes a difference.
We are grateful for your giving spirit again this year.
