Growing a Community of Philanthropy

The Paso del Norte Community Foundation is proud to add the Mica and David Short Donor Advised Fund to our community of philanthropy.

Mica and David Short have always been very community minded.  Mica’s professional career has afforded her many opportunities to support a wide range community projects and to work with many dedicated and inspirational community leaders.  Her professional experiences coupled with her strong personal core value to give back to the community that so generously invested in her success, has driven Mica’s commitment to making a difference.  David shares the same level of commitment to pay it forward.

Mica and David love their community and want to support its continued growth and advancement.  They recognize that charitable efforts play a huge role in El Paso’s continued success and prosperity, and they set up their donor advised fund to be more strategic in their charitable giving.  Mica and David are most passionate about organizations and charitable causes that support women and children, as Mica previously served on the boards of the YWCA of El Paso, El Paso Children’s Hospital, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the EPISD Education Foundation.

“We have given charitably for many years, and it made sense for us to set up a donor advised fund within the Paso del Norte Community Foundation to keep us organized and to simplify the giving process,” said Mica Short, “This fund lays the foundation for growing our charitable giving in the future and being more strategic about supporting the causes that mean the most to us.”

Mica and David are proud to call El Paso home and they are raising her three children – Sam, Gabi, and David – to be kind, humble, and compassionate contributors to society.

The PdNCF is honored to work with such generous individuals who help us continue to grow our community of philanthropy.  To learn more about how you can begin your legacy of charitable giving, please call (915) 218-2641 or contact us at Contact | Paso Del Norte Community Foundation (pdnfoundation.org).
