Meet our Board Member - Hector Retta

Hector Retta is the Chair of the Paso del Norte Community Foundation (PDNCF) Board of Directors and served on the Paso del Norte Health Foundation for four years.  He serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Economy Cash & Carry, a wholesale grocery enterprise based in El Paso, Texas.  Mr. Retta previously served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Vice Chairman of Capital Bank in El Paso, Texas from July 2010 until June 2017.  Mr. Retta was Executive Vice President and Regional President of Wells Fargo in Orange County, California from 2009 until 2010, and Senior Vice President and Regional President of Wells Fargo Border Banking from 2005 until 2009.  Prior to his association with Wells Fargo, Mr. Retta was a Managing Director, Private Client Services with JPMorgan.  Mr. Retta currently serves on the board of the El Paso Museum of Art Foundation and on the Board of Humanities Texas, in addition to his service to the Paso del Norte Community Foundation.  He is a native of Dallas, Texas and earned a BBA and an MS in Economics from Baylor University.  He is married to the former Lorez Curlin of El Paso. 

Mr. Retta notes that the PDNCF and Paso del Norte Health Foundation share a 24-year history of being the most significant, accomplished contributors to the health, well-being, and development of the community in the Paso del Norte region and he is thankful for the opportunity to participate in the planning, philanthropic growth, and work of the organization.   His favorite aspect of the El Paso-Juárez community is the dynamic confluence of countries, cultures, traditions, politics, social norms, and businesses, all of which contribute to the distinctiveness and prosperity of our community.
