The Paso del Norte Community Foundation (PdNCF) was named the 2025 Local Employer of Excellence for the Borderplex region at the Texas Workforce Commission’s 28th Annual Texas Workforce Conference, held December 3–5 in Corpus Christi.

Nominated by Workforce Solutions Borderplex, PdNCF received the award in recognition of its leadership and partnership in advancing a regional summer internship initiative that connects nonprofits, college students, and private-sector funders. Through this collaboration, PdNCF helped expand meaningful workforce experiences for students while building capacity for local nonprofits, strengthening the nonprofit sector and supporting future talent.

The program was first piloted through a grant from Texas Mutual in 2024, and Bank of America generously invested in the continuation of the program in 2025.  The program earned statewide recognition as a promising, scalable model for workforce and nonprofit development. The recognition reflects the Foundation’s continued commitment to regional progress through strategic philanthropy, collaboration, and innovation.
