A Fund of

 A former El Pasoan and graduate of Hanks High School, Nick Franco was a creative and talented artist and educator who enjoyed painting and graphic arts. Nick received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Painting from Colorado State University. Following his college graduation, Nick was an art educator and spent two years as an artist in residence for the City of Phoenix. He pursued his Master of Fine Arts degree at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Nick moved to the Dallas area to continue his work as an art educator for Dallas ISD and most recently was a high school graphic design instructor for Irving ISD.  Nick passed away from cancer young, but his passion for art and his legacy for growing and supporting creative students of art will carry on through this memorial scholarship. 

The Nick Franco Memorial Scholarship for the Arts is for graduating seniors of Hanks High School who have demonstrated achievement in art and academics.
