Cowgirl Up Launches to Empower Local Women and Girls in the Arts

On June 5th, Cowgirl Up held a press conference to officially announce its launch in the El Paso community. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Paso del Norte region, as Cowgirl Up joins the Paso del Norte Community Foundation as one of its newest charitable funds.
Dedicated to empowering young girls and women pursuing careers in the arts, Cowgirl Up aims to break barriers and open doors in traditionally underrepresented creative fields. Whether it’s music, visual arts, film, or production, the fund is committed to uplifting the next generation of artists by providing scholarships, mentorship opportunities, and strong community partnerships.
“Our goal is to help young women see themselves as leaders and changemakers through their artistic talents,” said a representative from Cowgirl Up. “We want to build a vibrant community where their voices are heard and their work is supported.”
With its roots grounded in empowerment and equity, Cowgirl Up is poised to become a driving force in El Paso’s creative landscape, championing inclusivity, expression, and opportunity. As its first major initiative, Cowgirl Up is partnering with the 2025 Way Out West Fest and Nusenda Credit Union. One hundred percent of registration fees from the festival’s Nusenda Cornhole Tournament will directly benefit Cowgirl Up’s mission to support aspiring female artists. Registration is now open at epwayoutwest.com/corn-hole-registration.
