Paso del Norte Community Foundation names new Vice President of Development
The Paso del Norte Community Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Mica Short as Vice President of Development. Ms. Short comes to PDNCF with experience in managing charitable giving, community outreach, public affairs and governmental relations. She served as the Community Relations Manager for Texas Gas Service and as the Executive Vice President at the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce on advocacy efforts at the local, state and federal levels in the areas of healthcare, transportation, education, infrastructure and development, and border issues.
“We are excited to have Mica join our team and look to her in the development and implementation of a charitable giving program to support the philanthropic goals of individuals, corporations, foundations and nonprofit organizations in the region,” said Tracy J. Yellen, CEO of the Paso del Norte Community Foundation, Paso del Norte Health Foundation and Fundación Paso del Norte para la Salud y Bienestar.
A native of El Paso, Ms. Short graduated from Loretto Academy. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s degree in Public Administration, both from the University of Texas at El Paso. She was named Outstanding Academic Graduate Student by the Institute for Policy and Economic Development when she received her Master’s in 2004, and she is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha, the National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration. In 2017, Ms. Short was honored by El Paso Inc. as a Woman of Impact and the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce with the Breakthrough Leader Award.
