Celebrating Women in Our Nonprofit Community

In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Paso del Norte Community Foundation would like to recognize our agency funds that have created opportunities in the region through education, services, advocacy, and empowerment.

El Jardin Birth & Family Resource Center- The El Jardin Birth & Family Resource Center aims to increase community connectivity around birth and early parenting to ensure new mothers and families are supported, both physically and emotionally. - El Jardin Birth & Family Resource Center | Paso Del Norte Community Foundation (pdnfoundation.org)

FEMME Frontera Fund- Femme Frontera, a collective of six female filmmakers from El Paso, Texas, Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, advocates for the amplification of films made by female filmmakers from borders across the globe. The organization celebrates these unique voices through showcasing work, community outreach, funding opportunities, and educational initiatives.

Executive Director, Angie Reza Tures, recently represented our community and provided insight and feedback for the "Beyond Inclusion: The Critical Role of Color in the U.S. Documentary Ecosystem" report by Sahar Driver, Ph.D. This information helped result in the creation of the Color Congress.

The Color Congress is a national collective of majority people of color (POC) and POC-led organizations aimed at centering and strengthening nonfiction storytelling by, for and about people of color across the United States and territories. We do this by supporting, resourcing, and connecting these organizations and building their collective power so they can be a more powerful force for change.
