Marathon Petroleum Awards $75,000 in Matching Funds to Nonprofits for 7th Annual El Paso Giving Day

Marathon Petroleum awarded $75,000 in matching funds, as part of the 7th Annual El Paso Giving Day, to 10 nonprofit organizations to support their work on the environment and hunger relief in the El Paso community including Bowie High School Garden, Celebration of Our Mountains, Desert Spoon Food Hub, Eco El Paso, El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank, El Paso Zoological Society, Green Hope Project, Insights Science Discovery, Second Chance Wildlife Rescue, and The Frontera Land Alliance.

“We are grateful for Marathon Petroleum’s dedication to El Paso and for the generous financial support they have pledged to local nonprofits through El Paso Giving Day,” said Tracy J. Yellen, Chief Executive Officer, of Paso del Norte Community Foundation. “Nonprofit organizations do so much for our community. This is an important way for us to support the essential programs and services that nonprofits provide in our region.”

This year El Paso Giving Day raised over $1.1 million for 222 nonprofits in our region thanks to our generous donors.
